Preparation steps

Finely grate gouda. Combine flour with cheese, pile on the work suface and make a well in the center. Add beaten egg to the well. Cut butter into small pieces and arrange around the well. With your hands, quickly knead into smooth pastry and shape into a ball. Wrap in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
