- ⅔ cup warm milk
- 4 tsps Molasses (black treacle)
- 1 ½ cups whole-wheat bread flour
- 4 ½ cups Rye flour
- ¼ oz easy bake Dry yeast
- 1 Tbsp Caraway
- ⅛ cup butter (melted)
- 1 ⅓ cups Buttermilk

1 Measuring cups, 1 Tablespoon, 2 Small bowls, 1 Teaspoon, 1 Whisk, 1 Cutting board, 1 spitzes Knife, 1 Small pot
Preparation steps
1.
Put the warm milk into a jug and add the molasses, mix together.
2.
Combine the wholemeal and rye flour, yeast, 2 Tsp salt and caraway seeds in a bowl.
3.
Pour in the milk and molasses, butter and enough buttermilk to make a soft, tacky dough.
4.
Knead for 10 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic.
5.
Transfer the dough to an oiled bowl, cover and leave in a warm place for 2 hours until doubled in size.
6.
Knock back the dough on a lightly floured surface, shape into a round and put onto a greased baking tray. Cover with clear wrap and leave in a warm place for another 1 hour to rise.
7.
Heat the oven to 190C (170C fan) 375F gas 5. Bake fro 50 minutes until the bread sounds hollow when tapped underneath.
