- 12 chili peppers
- 5 garlic cloves
- 150 milliliters olive oil
- 2 tsps salt

Preparation steps

Rinse the basil, pat dry and remove the leaves. Cut the chiles in half lengthwise, remove the stems and seeds and cut into strips. Peel the garlic and slice thinly. Heat the olive oil over low heat and add the basil, chile peppers and garlic. Let infuse for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and transfer to a clean glass jar.

Allow the oil to continue infusing for about 1 week before using. Store the oil in a cool, dark place (oil has a shelf life of approximately 4-6 months).
