- 150 grams Pastry flour
- 100 grams ground almonds
- 75 grams powdered sugar
- 1 tsp grated Lemon peel
- ¼ tsp freshly grated ginger
- 1 pinch ground Cardamom
- 1 pinch ground Ground clove
- 1 pinch ground allspice
- 1 pinch ground Anise seed
- 1 egg
- 150 grams butter
- fine sugar (for dusting)
- ground cinnamon (for dusting)

Preparation steps
1.
Mix flour with almonds, sugar, lemon peel and spices, piling up on a work surface. Make a well in the center and add beaten egg. Spread butter in small pieces around the flour and knead quickly into a smooth dough. Shape into a ball, wrap in plastic wrap and place in refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Preheat oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F).

Shape dough into 1 cm (approximately 3/8 inch) thin ropes. Cut ropes into about 8 cm (approximately 3-1/8 inch) long pieces and form into rings.

Place rings onto a lined baking tray and bake in preheated oven for about 12 minutes. Remove and while still hot carefully dip into sugar and sprinkle with cinnamon. Allow to cool and serve.
