Preparation steps

1.

Preheat the oven to 180°C (approximately 350°F). Brush a casserole dish with butter. Rinse the quince thoroughly and cut into thick slices. Rinse and halve the pears. Place the pears with the cut surfaces facing downwards in the dish and add the quince. Wash the lemon in hot water, finely grate the zest and cut in half lengthwise. Cut one half into wedges and squeeze the juice from the other half. Mix the lemon juice with the apple juice, cinnamon, cloves, liqueur and lemon zest. Add the lemon wedges to the fruit and pour the juice mixture over it. Sprinkle with the sugar, cover with aluminum foil and bake for about 50 minutes.

2.

Rinse gooseberries and drain. Peel the banana and cut into thin slices.

3.

Remove the fruit and switch the oven to broil. Remove the aluminum foil and add the bananas and gooseberries. Mix the fruit with the baking liquid well and brown under the broiler for about 10 minutes.

4.

The baked fruit is best when served hot with whipped cream or ice cream.
