- 75 grams powdered sugar
- 1 pinch salt
- 1 tsp ground Anise seed
- 1 pinch ground cinnamon
- 150 grams cold butter (cubed)
- Pastry flour (for rolling out)
Preparation steps
1.
Combine the flour, powdered sugar, salt, ground aniseed and cinnamon in a large bowl. Distribute the butter over the top and mix with a pastry cutter or two forks. Quickly knead with hands to form a smooth dough. Wrap with plastic wrap and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.
2.
Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3.
Roll the dough out onto a floured surface and cut into shapes using assorted cookie cutters. Place on the prepared baking sheet and bake for 10-12 minutes, until lightly golden.
4.
Remove from the oven and cool on a wire rack. Garnish with star anise pods.
