Ingredients

For the batter
500 grams Pastry flour
42 grams Yeast (1 cube)
80 grams sugar
0.13 l milk
2 egg yolks
1 pinch salt
125 grams butter (melted and cooled)
Pastry flour (for the work surface)
For the topping
200 grams butter
250 grams sliced almonds
200 grams sugar
2 Tbsps Whipped cream

Preparation steps

For the batter, place the flour into a mixing bowl, make a well in the center. Add the crumbled yeast, 1 tablespoon of sugar and a few tablespoons of warm milk to the well and mix with a little flour to make a soft dough. Cover and let rise in a warm place for about 15 minutes. Add the remaining ingredients and knead together with the dough hook of a hand mixer into a smooth dough. Cover again and let rise in a warm place until doubled in bulk, about 50-60 minutes.

For the topping, melt the butter in a pan. Stir in the sugar, almonds and cream. Bring to a boil briefly, then let to cool. Preheat the oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F).

Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface and press into the baking pan. Evenly spread the almond mixture on top. Bake for about 30-40 minutes. 

Let cool slightly, slice into squares and serve.
