3.333 cups white Bread flour
1 tablespoon caster sugar (superfine)
1 teaspoon easy bake Dry yeast
2 tablespoons Milk powder
2 tablespoons butter

Bread maker method: 1 Put all the ingredients into the bread maker bucket following the order and method specified in the manual. 2 Fit the bucket into the bread maker and set to the basic programme with a light crust. Press start.

Preparation steps

1.
Put the flour into a large bowl with 1 1/2 tsp salt.
2.
Sprinkle over the yeast and milk powder.
3.
Add the butter and pour on 350 ml warm water.
4.
Bring the mixture together with your hands to make a rough ball.
5.
Knead on a lightly floured surface for 10 minutes until the dough is stretchy and elastic.
6.
Cover with a greased plastic bag and leave in a warm place until doubled in size. (This will take about 30 minutes).
7.
Punch the dough down, and knead for a few minutes and shape into a rectangle.
8.
Put the dough into a greased 900g/2lb loaf tin. Cover with a clean tea towel and leave for another 30 minutes until the dough has risen to the top of the tin.
9.
Heat the oven 220C (200C) 425F gas 7.
10.
Remove the tea towel from the bread, decrease the oven temperature to 200C (180C fan) 400F gas 6.
11.
Bake the bread for 35 minutes until golden. To test to see if the loaf is ready, upturn and tap the base - it should sound hollow.
