2 shallots
400 grams Ground beef
1 Tbsp finely chopped mint
1 egg yolk
1 tsp grated Lemon peel
2 Tbsps freshly crumbled white bread
1 tsp Aleppo pepper (dried red pepper flakes, mild or spicy)
salt
freshly ground peppers
3 Tbsps olive oil
4 Skewers

Preparation steps

1.

Peel and finely chop shallots.

2.

In a bowl, combine ground beef, shallots, mint, egg yolks, lemon zest, crumbled white bread and Aleppo pepper. Season with salt and pepper. Mix well.

3.

Form mixture into about 20 small meatballs. Thread meatballs onto skewers and flatten slightly. Fry in hot oil, 2-3 minutes per side. (or cook on the grill, brushed with oil).

4.

Serve with flatbread, if desired.
