- 1 cup Whole milk
- 1 Tbsp active dry yeast
- 3 ⅓ cups all-purpose flour
- ¼ cup superfine caster sugar
- ¼ tsp salt
- ¼ cup butter (melted and cooled)
- 1 egg (beaten)
- ⅔ cup raisins

Preparation steps
1.
Heat the milk until just lukewarm. Stir in the yeast.
2.
Put the flour, sugar and salt into a bowl and mix together. Stir in the milk, butter and egg and mix until the mixture is soft but not sticky. Add the raisins and knead into the dough.
3.
Place the mixture into a clean bowl, cover with plastic film and leave to rise in a warm place until double in size - about 1 hour.
4.
Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured board and knead until smooth. Cut into 8 and and shape into balls. Place in a non stick muffin tin or lined individual metal cups. Leave to rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
5.
Heat the oven to 200°C |180°C fan|400°F|gas 6. Bake the buns in the oven for 15-20 minutes until well risen and golden brown.
