Sweet Nut Rounds
Pre-heat the oven to 180°C | 350F | gas 4. Grease and line a couple of large baking tray with parchment paper.
Prepare the tuiles by beating together the butter, vanilla extract and sugar in a mixing bowl until pale and fluffy.
Beat in the egg whites until incorporated, then sift in the flour and beat again until smooth.
Spoon tablespoons of the mixture onto the baking tray and use the back of the spoon to spread into circle shapes.
Sprinkle a few flaked almonds on top of each circle. Bake for 8-10 minutes until the edges are just starting to colour.
Remove from the oven and let them cool on the trays for 5 minutes before carefully sliding off onto wire racks to finish cooling.
Arrange the tuiles in a presentation box when you want to serve them.
