Sweet Indian Carrots Squares

Heat the oven to 100°C (80°C in a fan oven), 200°F, very low.
Melt the butter in a pot, add the carrot and semolina and sweat on a low heat stirring continuously for 2 minutes.
Heat the milk and sugar in a second pot until the sugar has dissolved. Pour over the semolina-carrot mixture and stir in well.
Pour the mass into a cake tin and bake in the hot oven for approx. 3 hours. You should then be able to cut the mixture.
Knock the halva gently out of the tin and cut into small pieces. Place into paper cases and decorate with gold foil.
