Ingredients
for
4
- For the filling
- 100 grams Bacon
- 150 milliliters Sour cream
- 1 egg
- 100 grams spicy Cheese (such as Sbrinz)
- 2 Tbsps breadcrumbs
- salt
- peppers
- ground paprika
- thyme
- Fat (for greasing)
Preparation steps
1.
Bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Preheat oven to 200°C (approximately 400°F). Grease a baking dish.
2.
Peel onions and boil for 5-8 minutes. They should be cooked but not too soft. Remove onions, rinse briefly and cut in half. Remove about 2/3 of the insides of each onion and set aside. Cut bottoms of onions if necessary so that they sit straight and place in baking dish. Season with salt and pepper.
3.
For the filling, heat a pan, chop the bacon finely, fry until crispy and remove. Chop insides of onion and mix with fried bacon and remaining ingredients. Season well. Filling should be firm but not too thick. Add more breadcrumbs if needed.
4.
Fill onions with filling and bake until golden brown, about 15 minutes. Serve immediately.
