Steaks, from the City of Hamburg
Rinse steaks briefly, pat dry and place in a bowl with oil. Refrigerate overnight.
Peel onions and cut into thin rings. Heat the butter and oil in a pan. Add onions and cook until browned. Remove and keep warm.
Add a little oil to the pan and reheat. Remove steaks from oil and drain. Sear steaks until browned, 2-4 minutes per side. Add cream to the pan and season with salt and pepper.
Serve steak topped with onion rings and pan sauce.
