Preparation steps

1.

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. In a bowl, mix eggs, flour, quark and 1 teaspoon salt with an electric hand mixer. Press mixture through Spaetzle maker into the boiling water. Reduce heat to low and cook spaetzle about 5 minutes. Drain in a colander.

2.

Heat butter in a pan. Add spaetzle and sprinkle with cheese. Cover and cook over medium heat until the cheese melts. Serve sprinkled with roasted onion rings, if desired.
