8 Savoy cabbage
¼ cup olive oil
1 onion (finely chopped)
2 sticks Celery (peeled and finely diced)
3 carrots (peeled and finely diced)
1 bay leaf
2 cups ground pork
3 cups vegetable stock

Preparation steps

Put the cabbage leaves in a large saucepan of salted, boiling water and cook for 1 minute or until softened. Remove from the water and let them cool and dry as you prepare the filling.

Heat the vegetable oil in a large saucepan set over a medium heat until hot. Sweat the onion, carrot and celery with the bay leaf and a little seasoning for 10-12 minutes until softened, then leave to cool. 3 Mix a third of the vegetables with the pork and season well. Divide between the cabbage leaves, then wrap up and tie with string.

Arrange the cabbage parcels in a slow cooker. Stir the rest of the vegetables into the stock and pour over.

Cover with a lid and braise on a medium setting for 5 hours. Adjust the seasoning to taste before serving.
