Savory Fried Lamb Turnovers
For the filling, mix ground lamb, cilantro, onion, cinnamon, pepper, salt and eggs. Quickly sear filling in a skillet and let cool.
Cut pastry into strips about 8 cm wide (approximately 3 inches wide). Place about 1 tablespoon filling on a dough strip about 3 cm (approximately 1 inch) below upper edge. Fold top edge of pastry over filling to form a triangle. Fold top point of triangle down, then fold triangle to the right. Continue folding into a triangle to the bottom edge of pastry strip. Brush edges of pastry with egg yolk and seal. Repeat with remaining pastry and filling.
Heat oil in a skillet and fry turnovers until golden brown on both sides, 4-5 minutes. Drain turnovers on paper towel and serve immediately.
