Salade Niçoise with Tuna
Ingredients
- For the tuna
- 4 Tuna about 180 g (approximately 6 ounces)
- 1 lemon (juice)
- 5 Tbsps olive oil
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- For the vegetables
- 10 pcs small new Potato
- 200 grams green Beans
- 250 grams Cherry tomatoes
- 4 hardboiled eggs
- 1 Red onion
- 1 small head Romaine lettuce
- 8 Tbsps olive oil
- 4 Tbsps White vinegar
- 1 Lime (juice)
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- 80 grams black Olives
- 10 Anchovy fillet (in oil)
Preparation steps
Combine the lemon juice, oil, salt and pepper, and sprinkle over the tuna. Allow to marinate for about 30 minutes.
Cook potatoes in a pot of boiling salted water until knife tender, about 20 minutes.
Snip the ends of the beans and cook for 10-12 minutes in boiling salted water. Drain, rinse and drain again. Halve the tomatoes. Peel the egg and cut into wedges. Peel, halve and cut the onion into strips. Tear the romaine into bite-sized pieces. Mix the olive oil with the vinegar and lime juice and season with salt and pepper.
Divide the salad among four plates and top with potatoes, beans, tomatoes, onions, eggs, anchovies and olives. Drizzle with the dressing.
Grill the tuna steaks on the hot grill or in a grill pan on both sides for 3-4 minutes. Cut into small pieces and place on salads. Serve with freshly ground pepper.
