- 1 Red cabbage (about 1 kg)
- 2 Tbsps butter
- 4 finely chopped onions
- 2 bay leaves
- ½ tsp Ground clove
- 5 Juniper berries
- 1 jar Red currant jelly (about 200 grams)
- salt
- freshly ground peppers

Preparation steps
1.
Remove the outer leaves from the cabbage. Cut the cabbage into quarters lengthwise, remove the stalk and cut or slice into thin strips.
2.
Sauté the onions in a large pan in some butter. Add the bay leaves, juniper berries, clove powder and jelly and mix together. Add the cabbage, mix well, cover and simmer for about an hour with occasional stirring.
Season with salt and pepper before serving.
