1 tsp salt
1 tsp Dried yeast
¼ cup sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp honey
4 Tbsps Oil

Preparation steps

1.
Mix together the flour and the salt and create a well in the middle. Mix the yeast with 5-6 tbsp lukewarm water and stir in the sugar until it dissolves and pour the mixture into the well. Add the eggs, honey and oil and knead into an elastic dough either by hand or with a kitchen machine. Cover and leave to rise in a warm for approx. 90 minutes until the dough has doubled in size.

Re-knead the dough and then leave to rise for another 30 minutes.

Heat the oven to 200°C (180°C in a fan oven), 400°F, gas 6.

Split the dough into three parts and roll into three long "sausage-shapes". Braid them together, pinching the top and bottom closed. Place the braid on a greased baking tray, cover and leave to rest until the oven is heated.
5.
Mix the egg yolk with a few drops of water and brush onto the braid. Bake in the middle of the oven for around 40 minutes until golden brown.
