- 1 kilogram gherkins
- 1 onion
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 Tbsps freshly chopped parsley
- 0.35 l Fruit Vinegar
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- sugar
- 1 tsp Mustard seed
- 1 tsp allspice
Preparation steps
Rinse the cucumber and thinly slice. Sprinkle with salt, and set aside to rest for 2 hours. Rinse and pat dry. Peel and finely chop the onion and garlic. Mix with the cucumbers and parsley and divide into the prepared glasses.
Bring the vinegar to a boil with 350 ml (approximately 12 ounces) of water, mustard seeds, and allspice. Season with the salt, pepper, and sugar. Pour the boiling mixture into the jars, making sure the cucumber mixture is covered entirely. Seal the jars immediately, and turn upside down for 10 minutes. Turn right side up and cool completely.
Let the pickles marinate for at least 4 weeks before being served. Always remove the contents of the jars with a clean utensil, seal immediately, and rerigerate. Store the unopened jars in a cool and dry place.
