- For the nuts
- 500 grams mixed Nut (such as almonds, hazelnuts, cashews)
- For the spice mixture
- 3 cloves
- 3 allspice
- ¼ Cinnamon stick
- 1 Star anise (to taste)

Preparation steps
1.
For the nuts: Toast nuts unti light golden brown in a dry frying pan, stirring constantly. Allow to cool and pour the nuts into the jarswith the spice mixture ingredients.
2.
For the syrup: Melt the sugar over low heat in a large pot, pour in the red wine and boil briefly. The syrup should roughly have a honey-like consistency.
3.
Add as much syrup as required to cover the nuts completely. Seal the jars well and store in a dark, dry place.
4.
Allow nuts to soak for 1 week before serving.
