These no roll Christmas cookies are super easy to make and come together in less than half an hour.
If you have excess dough, you can freeze it and bake as you need. This dough should stay good in the freezer for up to 4 months.

- 1 cup butter (softened)
- 1 cup Shortening
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 tsps pure vanilla extract
- 4 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking soda
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp cream of tartar
- colored Sugar crystal (to decorate)

Preparation steps
1.
Preheat oven to 375º F. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a large bowl, cream butter, shortening, granulated sugar and confectioners' sugar together until fluffy and light. Beat in eggs and vanilla.

Sift the flour, baking soda, salt and cream of tartar into the butter and sugar mixture, mixing to incorporate.
4.
Using your hands, shape a teaspoonful of dough into a ball about the size of a walnut. Place on the prepared baking sheets. Flatten each ball slightly using the bottom of a glass. Sprinkle each cookie with decorative sugar crystals. Bake for 10 to 12 minutes or until the edges are light golden brown. Serve.
