- For the meatballs
- 500 grams Ground beef
- 1 shallot (finely chopped)
- 2 stale White rolls
- milk (to soak)
- 1 egg
- 2 Tbsps chopped parsley
- ½ tsp salt
- peppers (from the mill)
- clarified butter
- For the tomato sauce
- 1 large can Tomato (850 grams)
- 2 shallots
- 2 garlic cloves
- 3 Tbsps olive oil
- 1 Tbsp Tomato paste
- 1 tsp thyme
- salt
- peppers
- Sour cream
Preparation steps

Peel shallots and chop. Crush garlic cloves and sauté in a pan with shallots and olive oil. Add tomato paste and fry for 2 - 3 minutes.

Add tomatoes, including juice, to shallots and simmer, stirring occasionally, for about 20 minutes. Remove from heat and puree.

Season sauce with thyme, salt and pepper.

For meatballs cook shallot in butter until translucent. Soak rolls in milk, squeeze and mix with shallots and eggs. Season with parsley, salt and pepper. With moistened hands, form small meatballs and fry in hot butter until golden brown.

Serve meatballs in tomato sauce.
