- 500 grams lamb (from leg)
- 500 milliliters Beef broth
- 200 grams chickpeas (from a jar)
- 5 small Tomatoes
- 3 onions
- 1 pc fresh ginger
- 1 red chili pepper
- 1 green chili pepper
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp vegetable oil
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice
- 1 ½ tsps Garam Masala
- 1 tsp ground Turmeric
- ground paprika (1 teaspoon)
- salt
- freshly ground peppers
- 1 pinch sugar
- cilantro (for garnishing)

Preparation steps

Soak chickpeas ,covered, in water overnight. Cut lamb into bite-sized pieces. Rinse tomatoes, pat dry and coarsely chop. Peel onions and chop finely. Peel ginger and chop finely. Rinse chile peppers, cut lengthwise, remove seeds and ribs, cut into fine strips.

Heat butter and oil in a saucepan. Add garam masala, turmeric, paprika and cumin and saute for about 1/2 minute. Add onions, ginger and chile and saute until soft. Add lamb and cook until browned. Add drained chickpeas, mix well. Add broth and tomatoes.

Drizzle with lemon juice, season with salt and sugar. Cover and simmer for about 1 1/2 hours. Add more water if necessary. Season to taste, arrange on plates and garnish with cilantro. Serve.
