1 cup dark Molasses
½ tsp baking soda
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 ½ tsps Baking powder
2 tsps ground ginger
1 tsp ground cinnamon
¼ tsp ground cloves
¼ tsp freshly grated Nutmeg

3 large eggs
½ cup packed, dark brown sugar
½ cup granulated sugar
¾ cup grapeseed oil
1 Tbsp fresh ginger (peeled and grated)

Preparation steps

1.
Preheat oven to 350° F/175° C. Grease a 6-cup Bundt pan, and dust with flour.

In a large saucepan over high heat, combine the stout and molasses and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and add the baking soda. Set aside.
3.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, ground ginger, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and cardamom.

In a separate bowl, whisk together the eggs and both sugars. Add in the oil and continue to whisk until well incorporated. Add in the stout mixture with the egg mixture, and stir until combined.
5.
Gradually whisk in the the wet mixture to the flour mixture. Add the fresh ginger and stir to combine.
6.
Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 1 hour, or until the top springs back when gently pressed. Let cool on a wire rack before serving.
