Ingredients

For the ground meat
400 grams mixed Ground meat
1 onion
salt
freshly ground peppers
2 Tbsps butter
100 grams Frozen pea
For the apples
2 Apple
2 Tbsps butter
For the red cabbage
700 grams Red cabbage (small head)
2 Tbsps Vinegar
3 Tbsps lemon juice
2 Tbsps Orange juice
4 Tbsps vegetable oil
½ tsp Caraway
freshly ground peppers

Preparation steps

1.

For the ground meat, peel onion and chop. Heat butter in a pan and fry onion and add ground meat and fry until crumbly and season with salt and pepper and add frozen peas. Cover and simmer for about 10 minutes.

For the apples, peel apples and remove cores with a corer and cut apple into slices and fry in butter over medium heat on both sides until apple slices are tender but not falling apart.

Cook spaetzle according to package directions.

For the cabbage, cut cabbage into quarters and remove core and finely slice. Mix cabbage and 2 tablespoons vinegar and let stand for about 15 minutes and stir again. In a small bowl, mix lemon and orange juice, caraway, black pepper and oil. Rinse cabbage with lukewarm water and drain well and pat dry if needed. Pour dressing over cabbage and stir. 

5.

To serve, arrange spaetzle, ground meat, apple slices and red cabbage on a plate.
