- 1 pkg Star anise (dried)
- 1 can Gold food color spray ((available from craft stores)
- Newspaper
Preparation steps

Let newspaper dry in a well-ventilated place. Spread newspaper on a work surface. Place star anise on newspaper, leaving space between each. Spray star anise evenly with gold spray, according to package instructions. Let dry. Turn and spray the other side. Let dry.
2.
Use gilded star anise as table decorations or thread onto the needles of an Advent wreath, as desired. They also make very pretty tree ornaments.
