Preparation steps

Half the bread slices horizontally. Drain the mozzarella and cut into slices. Cover half of the bread slices with it.

Rinse the basil, shake dry, pluck off the leaves and cut into strips. Shower over the cheese and season with salt and pepper. Place the remaining bread slices on top and press together.

Whisk the milk and the eggs with a pinch of salt. Heat some oil in a frying pan. Carefully dip the sandwiches into the egg mixture, drain off the excess and fry for 4-5 minutes until golden brown on both sides.

Serve halved diagonally.
