Fry the onion and the garlic in hot oil. Stir in the tomato puree and fry for a few minutes. Add the beans and the tomatoes and season with salt, ground black pepper, chilli and coffee. Simmer for 10-15 minutes until thick.
Remove half the sauce from the pot and puree finely. Return to the pot and season again. Allow to cool slightly.
Spread the paste thinly onto the tortillas leaving space around the edges. Fold the tortillas together and dry fry in a grill pan on both sides on a medium heat.
Remove from the pan, cut into slices and serve garnished with basil.
