- 2 sheets frozen Puff pastry (thawed)
- 5 fresh eggs (at room temperature)
- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 2 cups Whole milk (plus 1 tablespoon)
- 1 tsp pure vanilla extract
- 7 Tbsps butter (softened)
- powdered sugar (for dusting)

Preparation steps
1.
Preheat oven according to package instructions. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

Divide puff pastry into 4 equal rectangular pieces; prick the bottom several times with a fork. Bake according to package instructions and let cool.

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the eggs and sugar; whisk in flour. Whisk in milk and set over medium heat. Cook whisking constantly until the mixture thickens into a custard. Stir-in vanilla and remove from heat. Cool to room temperature.
4.
Stir in butter one tablespoon at a time.
5.
Place one piece of puff pastry on a serving platter and spread with 1/3 of the cooled custard cream. Repeat twice more ending with a layer of puff pastry.
6.
Refrigerate overnight. Dust with confectioners' sugar prior to serving.
