Ingredients

For the cake batter
¾ cup butter
cup sugar
3 eggs
1.333 cups all-purpose flour
2 tsps Baking powder
cup Crème fraiche
4 eating Apple (peeled, cored and chopped)
For the crumble topping
½ cup flour
¾ cup Almond flour
2 Tbsps brown sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
¼ cup butter

Preparation steps

Heat the oven to 180ºC (160º fan) 350ºF, gas 4. Grease and line the cake tin.

Cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then add the flour and baking powder.
3.
Fold in the creme fraiche then mix in the apples and turn the batter into a buttered springform pan.
4.
Clean the mixing bowl and add all the ingredients for the topping. Rub together until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs then scatter the topping over the cake.
5.
Bake in the oven for 35-40 minutes or until golden brown. Test with a wooden toothpick; if it comes out clean, the cake is done.
