100 grams softened butter
200 grams sugar
1 packet Vanilla sugar
1 tsp cinnamon
2 medium eggs
375 grams Pastry flour
1 packet baking soda
250 milliliters Dark beer
250 grams raisins
100 grams diced Candied lemon

150 grams Dark couverture chocolate

Preparation steps

For the batter, mix butter until creamy. Gradually add sugar, vanilla, cinnamon and eggs and mix well. Sift flour and baking soda in a bowl, then stir into batter, alternating with beer. Fold raisins and candied lemon into batter.

Pour batter into a greased loaf pan, about 11 x 30 cm (approximately 4 x 12 inches) and spread until smooth. Bake in preheated oven at 175°C (fan: 160°C, gas mark 2-3) (approximately 350°F) for about 60 minutes. Let rest for 10 minutes in cake pan. Remove from pan and cool on a wire rack.

Coarsely chop chocolate and melt in a double boiler. Glaze cake with melted chocolate. Let chocolate dry. To serve, cut into pieces and arrange on dessert plates.
