Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 180°C (160°C in a fan oven), 350°F, gas 4 and line a baking tray with grease-proof paper.
2.
Melt the chocolate in a bain-marie and leave to cool.
3.
Beat together the butter and the sugar. Add the eggs one by one and then fold in the orange juice and zest.
4.
Mix together the flour, baking powder and the cocoa powder and mix into the egg mixture along with the melted chocolate and the nuts. If necessary add some milk so that a firm but spreadable consistency is achieved.
5.
Spread the mixture onto the prepared baking tray and bake in the middle of the oven for around 45 min. Test with a wooden stick to see if the cake is done.
6.
Remove from the oven and leave to cool for a few minutes, then remove from the baking tray.
7.
To make the glaze, melt the chocolate and cream in a bain-marie. Leave to cool then spread onto the cake and sprinkle with the wafers and the orange zest. Leave to set and then serve.
