- 53 ozs Pork ribs (spare ribs)
- 2 cloves garlic cloves (finely chopped)
- ¾ inch fresh ginger (finely chopped)
- ¼ cup Hoisin sauce
- ¼ cup runny honey
- ⅓ cup brown sugar
- 1 Tbsp sesame oil
- 1 Tbsp 5 spice powder
- 2 Tbsps Sesame seeds

Preparation steps
1.
Place the ribs in a wide-based saucepan, cover with boiling water, put a lid on and cook over a moderate heat for around 25 minutes.
2.
For the marinade, mix together the garlic, ginger, hoisin, honey, sugar, oil and five spice.
3.
Drain the ribs well, cut into portions (2-3 ribs each) and place in a flat-bottomed dish. Coat with the marinade and leave for at least 1 hour.

Preheat the oven to 200°C (180°C in a fan oven), 400°F, gas 6.

Take the ribs out of the marinade and lay on a baking tray. Bake in the oven for around 20 minutes until cooked through, brushing with marinade from time to time. Sprinkle with sesame seeds 5 minutes before the end of the cooking time.
6.
Remove from the oven and serve, with lime wedges if desired.
