- 1 pkg frozen Puff pastry dough (400 grams)
- 2 egg yolks
- 100 grams finely grated Emmentaler cheese (or mountain cheese)
- 1 tsp Caraway
- salt

Preparation steps

Lay thawed puff pastry slices on a lightly floured work surface and roll out slightly. Whisk the egg yolks with 4 tablespoons water and brush on the dough sheets. Mix the cheese with caraway seeds, season with salt and pepper and sprinkle evenly on the puff pastry. Fold in half, roll out again lightly and brush surface again with egg yolks.

Cut into 1-1.5 cm (approximately 1/2-inch) wide strips. Twist strips in a spiral pattern and space evently on a parchment paper-lined baking sheet. Bake in preheated oven at 220°C (approximately 425°F) until golden brown, about 20-30 minutes. Let cool and serve with wine, if desired.
