- 2 Tbsps Oil
- 32 ozs chuck steak (diced)
- 4 Tbsps all-purpose flour
- salt
- peppers
- 2 onions (chopped)
- ⅔ cup Red wine
- 2 ½ cups Beef stock
- 8 ozs Puff pastry
- 1 egg (lightly beaten)
Preparation steps

Heat the oil in a large pan. Toss the steak in the flour, salt and pepper. Fry until browned then remove from the pan.

Add the onions to the pan and cook over a low heat for 5 minutes, then add the wine and bubble for 1 minute. Return the beef to the pan with the stock. Simmer over a low heat for about 2 hours, adding more water if the mixture becomes too dry. Remove from the heat and stir in the peas.

Heat the oven to 180°C (160° fan) 350°F gas 4.

Roll out the pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut out 4 rounds to fit the tops of 4 individual pie dishes.

Divide the mixture between the pie dishes and top with the pastry. Brush with the beaten egg then bake for 30-35 minutes, until golden.
