- 75 grams smoked Bacon
- 400 grams Pork
- 300 grams Beef
- 2 small onions
- 1 tsp Caraway
- 1 tsp dried marjoram
- 1 large bay leaf
- 2 tsps sweet ground paprika
- 2 Tbsps Tomato paste
- 1 small Green cabbage
- ½ can Sauerkraut
- 1 small tart Apple
- 400 grams smoked Mettwurst
- salt
- peppers
- 2 Tbsps vegetable oil
Preparation steps

Remove the hard rind from the bacon and finely chop. Cut the pork and beef into large cubes. Peel and halve the onions. Rinse and slice the cabbage. Peel and grate the apple. Slice the sausages. Heat the oil in a large saucepan.

Add the bacon and onion and saute until the onion is translucent. Add the meat to the pan and saute on all sides. Stir in the spices and simmer briefly. Pour in water to cover the meat by 1/2-inch and simmer 1 1/2 hours. Add the cabbage, sauerkraut and apple, along with water to cover and simmer 45 minutes. Mix in the sausage and season with salt. Remove the bay leaf and serve.
