- For the beef
- 2 Steak fillet (each about 175 grams)
- salt
- black, green and pink freshly ground pepper
- vegetable oil
- Fat (for frying)
- For the vegetables
- small yellow and orange paprika (1 each)
- ½ Eggplant
- 1 onion
- 1 garlic clove
- 1 Beefsteak tomato
- 3 Tbsps vegetable oil
- salt
- freshly ground pepper
- 1 Tbsp pickled Caper
- 1 tsp lemon juice
- 2 Lovage
- 6 Basil

Preparation steps

For the vegetables, rinse, trim and cut the bell peppers, tomatoes and eggplant into bite-size pieces. Peel onion and garlic and chop finely. Drain capers. Rinse lovage and basil, pluck the leaves and cut into thin strips.
Heat the oil in a pan and saute onions and garlic until translucent. Add eggplant and continue to saute for 2 minutes. Add pepper and saute for 3 minutes. Stir in tomatoes, capers and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper. Stir in 2/3 of the herbs. Remove from the heat and sprinkle with the remaining herbs.

For the beef, pat the steaks dry and coat with oil. Season with salt and pepper. Cook on the hot grill for 2 to 5 minutes per side as desired. Let sit briefly then slice. Serve with vegetables on the side.
