- 14 ozs Puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
- 4 Pear peeled, cored (but leave whole with the stems on)
- 2 Tbsps lemon juice
- 2 egg yolks (beaten)
- ¼ cup Gorgonzola (crumbled)
- 3 Tbsps Apricot jelly (jam)
- To decorate
- powdered sugar

Preparation steps
1.
Heat the oven to 180C (160C fan) 350F, gas 4.
2.
Drizzle the pears with the lemon juice and fill with the Gorgonzola cheese.
3.
Roll out the pastry and cut out four squares, approx. 15x15 cm / 6x6 in each. Cut a thin strip off each square to decorate.
4.
Place each pear in the middle of a pastry square. Pull up the sides and press together firmly (leaving the stalk sticking out). Brush with beaten egg yolk and decorate with the remaining pastry.
5.
Line a cookie sheet with baking parchment. Place the pears on the cookie sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden brown. Meanwhile heat the apricot jelly (jam) and press through a sieve.
6.
Take the pears out and brush with jelly (jam). Sprinkle with confectioners' sugar and serve.
