- 4 large onions
- 1 cup Beef (e. g. rump, diced)
- 1 cup sliced Cheese (e. g. Brebis, diced)
- 2 sprigs thyme (leaves removed)
- Coriander
- ground Caraway
- dry white wine
- 2 Tbsps balsamic vinegar

Preparation steps
1.
Peel the onions and cook them in salt water for around 10 minutes. Remove and drain. Cut a lid off each one and carefully hollow out each one. Chop the onion that is removed.
2.
Heat the oven to 200°C (180°C in a fan oven), 400°F, gas 6 and brush a baking dish with oil.
3.
Place the beef and the chopped onion in a bowl and add the cheese and thyme. Season with salt, ground black pepper, coriander and caraway and transfer the mixture to the onions.
4.
Place the onions in the baking dish, place the lids on top, add a dash of wine and bake for around 40 minutes until golden brown. Serve drizzled with balsamic vinegar.
