2 Tbsps powdered sugar
½ lemon (zested)
1 Tbsp butter
3 tart, red Apple (such as Jonagold)
2 Tbsps lemon juice
50 grams Walnut
30 grams Pistachio

Preparation steps

1.

Separate the eggs, beat the egg whites with 1 tablespoon sugar until very stiff. Mix the egg yolks, quark and cornstarch. Mix the powdered sugar and lemon zest. Grease a 28 cm diameter (approximately 11 inch) baking dish and sprinkle the bottom with the remaining sugar.

Rinse the apples, cut into quarters, remove the seeds, cut into wedges and sprinkle with lemon juice. Carefully fold the egg whites carefully into the egg yolk mixture, pour into the baking dish and smooth. Arrange the apple slices on top in a circle and into the dough. Sprinkle with the nuts and bake in an oven preheated to 200°C (approximately 400°F) about 20 minutes. Remove from the oven and serve hot.
