Healthy, because

Even smarter

This is an impressive, beautiful dessert or sweet breakfast that's also a good source of nutrients such as vitamin C thanks to the plums.

If you're okay with some extra sugar and calories, serve with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream for even more flavor and texture.

Preparation steps

1.

Put the flour into a bowl and make a well in the center. Mix together the yeast, 2-3 tbsp sugar, and around half of the milk and pour this into the well. Mix with a little of the flour, cover with a cloth and leave for around 15 minutes to start working.

2.
Add the remaining sugar and milk, a pinch of salt, the egg and butter and knead with a dough hook to form a smooth dough that comes away from the edge of the bowl. If necessary, add a little more milk or flour. Cover and leave in a warm place for approx. 45 minutes to rise.
3.

Heat the oven to 350°F. Butter the dish and dust with flour.

4.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and roll out to the size of the dish. Place in the dish, shaping to form a crust at the edge. Cover with a cloth and leave for a further approx. 15 minutes to rise.
5.

Arrange the plums over the cake in a circular pattern and sprinkle with almonds. Bake in the oven for approx. 30 minutes until golden brown. Allow to cool slightly, then sprinkle with pearl/nib sugar and serve.
