- 350 grams dried chickpeas
- 1 can Diced tomatoes
- 1 onion (finely chopped)
- 1 cut Celery (finely grated)
- 1 carrot (finely grated)
- 3 garlic cloves (pressed)
- 1 Tbsp Sambal oelek
- 2 Tbsps olive oil
- instant powdered Vegetable broth (to taste)
- 1 bay leaf
- salt
- peppers

Preparation steps

Soak the chickpeas overnight in plenty of water. The next day, drain in a sieve and rinse thoroughly, Add 1 liter (about 4 cups) of water. Add carrots, celery, onions and bay leaf in a pot. Boil for 1 hour. Add diced tomatoes, garlic, sambal oelek and oil. Cook for about 50 minutes until done. Remove bay leaf.

Season with salt, pepper and broth a taste. Pour into bowls and serve.
