12 slices White whole-wheat bread
4 ripe Tomatoes
2 Red onions
12 slices Cheddar cheese
12 slices cooked ham
4 green, pitted Olives

Preparation steps

Halve bread slices. Rinse and dry tomatoes, remove stalks and slice thinly. Peel onions and cut into rings. Place half of bread slices on a lined with parchment paper baking sheet and cover each with 1-2 tomato slices, a slice of cheese, few onion rings and some ham.

Toast under a hot broiler for 2-3 minutes. Remove from oven and cover with remaining bread slices. Stack three sandwiches on each other and secure with toothpicks. Garnish with olives and serve.
