Preparation steps

1.

Place the flour in a bowl. Add a pinch of salt, a pinch of cinnamon, the powdered sugar, softened butter and season with orange zest. Add enough hot water to make a smooth paste. Roll out the dough into a 22 x 20 cm (approximately 9 x 8 inch) rectangle. Spread the jam over the dough, sprinkle with raspberries, brush the edges with butter then carefully roll up. Place, seam-side down, on a greased piece of aluminum foil. Fold the foil up loosely over the strudel. Place a bowl of water on the bottom of the oven, place the strudel packet on a wire rack and bake in a preheated oven at 100°C (approximately 210°F) for 90-120 minutes.

2.

For the sauce: Prepare the vanilla sauce according to package directions with the milk. Serve the warm raspberry strudel with the sauce and fresh raspberries.
