Mint Chocolate Christmas Countdown

Melt the milk chocolate in a bowl set over hot (but not boiling) water. Cool slightly then tip into a freezer bag (or small piping bag) and make a small opening by cutting off the corner. Pipe the numbers 1-24 on grease-proof paper. Allow to dry briefly, then place a second piece of grease-proof paper on top and flatten slightly using a palette knife. Leave the chocolate to dry.
For the peppermint discs, melt the plain chocolate, likewise in a bowl over hot water, and dip the wafer papers in the chocolate, ideally with a dipping fork. Put on baking paper to dry.
Loosen the numbers and place on the still slightly soft peppermint discs. Press down and sprinkle each one with a little gold glitter. Leave to set, then package as an Advent calendar and give as a gift.
