- ⅔ cup self-rising flour (sifted)
- 3 Tbsps unsweetened cocoa powder
- ½ cup caster sugar
- ½ cup butter (softened)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tsp Almond extract
- 2 Tbsps sliced almonds

Preparation steps
1.
Preheat the oven to 190°C (170° fan), 375 F, gas 5 and butter a small baking dish.
2.
Combine the flour, cocoa, sugar, butter, eggs and almond extract in a bowl and whisk together for 2 minutes or until smooth.
3.
Spoon it into the baking dish and sprinkle with flaked almonds then bake for 30-35 minutes.
4.
Test with a wooden toothpick, if it comes out clean, the cake is done. Serve warm with custard or cream.
