- 800 grams yellow and Beets
- ½ stalk cinnamon (stick)
- ½ tsp fennel seeds
- ½ stalk Licorice
- salt
- 2 Tbsps honey
- 1 Tbsp lemon juice

Preparation steps
1.
Rinse the beets and add to a small saucepan. Cover with water. Add the cinnamon stick, fennel seeds, licorice and 1/2 teaspoon of salt. Bring to a boil. Simmer over medium heat until the beets are tender, about 40 minutes.

Drain the beets and rinse with cold water to cool. Peel and slice or cut into strips.

Preheat the oven to 220°C (approximately 430°F).

In a bowl, toss the beets with the honey and lemon juice. Spread on a foil-lined baking sheet and bake for 10 minutes. Serve on plates.
