- 2 cups self-rising flour
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup sugar
- 2 tsps fresh, unsprayed Lavender (or 1 tsp dried)
- ⅔ cup milk (plus extra if needed for glazing)
- To decorate

- Whipped cream
- Jam

1 Bowl, 1 Small bowl, 1 Cutting board, 1 Large knife, 1 Small knife, 1 Tablespoon, 1 Teaspoon, 1 Peeler, 1 Mandoline, 1 Whisk, 1 Salad spinner, 1 Skillet
Preparation steps
1.
For the scones: heat the oven to 220°C (200° fan) 425°F gas 7. Grease and flour a large baking tray.

Put the flour into a mixing bowl and rub in the butter until the mixture resembles breadcrumbs. Stir in the sugar and lavender.
3.
Gradually add the milk to form a soft dough. Turn out onto a lightly floured surface and knead lightly until smooth.

Roll or pat out 2.5cm|1" thick. Cut into rounds with a floured 5cm|2" cutter. Lightly knead together the trimmings and cut out more rounds

Place on the baking tray and brush the tops with milk. Bake for 10-12 minutes until well risen and golden. Cool on the baking tray for a few minutes, then place on a wire rack to cool completely.
6.
Sift a little icing sugar over the tops. Serve with whipped cream and jam.
